I'm Anthony Slaughter and I spent 17 (professional) years as a meteorologist in the TV news business. My love for weather started a child! I can remember watching The Weather Channel for hours & when storms rolled through my hometown - St. Louis, MO I would go into ALERT mode! Growing up in tornado alley, weather was never just boring. From the Flood of '93 to severe weather outbreaks year after year, weather was always capturing my attention! I got my Bachelors Degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and graduated in 2008. While I was in college, I started my t.v. career at KOMU in Columbia, MO as a sophomore. In 2009, I got my first full-time job at a local t.v. station I grew up watching - KSDK. I worked there as a weekend meteolorologist for 3 years before moving to California. In 2012, after spending  5 years in San Francisco Bay, I moved back home to St. Louis again - this time with twin boys! My final chapter of t.v. news came to an end in 2025, after spending 8 years back at KSDK. In April of 2025, I stepped away from reporting the weather on tv, but I knew I still wanted to keep the community I call home, safe from severe weather - so I stepped into online weather!
